We’ve all heard the saying “Think Outside the Box”. What does that actually mean?
To me it means thinking outside the limiting beliefs and outside our comfort zone that often times confine us from stepping into actualizing our hopes, dreams and goals.
I’m a small town girl, growing up on my family’s cattle ranch in Nebraska. My 8th grade graduating class was 4. I drove 32 miles round trip each day to go to High School. I’m the first person in my family to graduate from a 4 year college. I moved out of state, where I didn’t know anyone to take my first job out of college working for a Fortune 500 corporation. You’d better believe there were a lot of “boxes” aka limiting believes to overcome and that’s just the beginning!
Between then and now, it’s been quite a journey, one that I’ll be sharing with you here on this blog along with tips, tricks and resources that have helped me along the way.
As I sit here looking out at the ocean as the waves crash in near my place here in Southern California, I had to burn another “box” yet again to have the confidence to write this FIRST blog post. See, I have a limiting belief that I’m not a good writer and I’ve been told repeatedly, “you should blog, you’ve got a great message to share”. I’ve also got a limiting belief around people really wanting to hear about my journey. Thankfully, as I’ve been considering what to write for the FIRST post, I had a woman message me yesterday that I met over 6 months ago, she just wanted to let me know that my story inspired her and that it’s helped her burn a few of her “boxes.
What are the “boxes” that are keeping you confined? What would be possible if you burned that box? Need a match? I’m passionate about helping others get out of their comfort zone and neutralize limiting beliefs that may be keeping them stuck from stepping forward and actualizing their hopes, goals and dreams. So, for those pesky “boxes” that creep in and want to keep us confined and keep us playing small, this is my small rebellion against the BOX! Burn Baby Burn!!
